The ladies from the Ancient County recorded their fifth consecutive limited overs title after defeating Demerara by 51 runs yesterday in the final of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) senior Inter-County tournament at the Lusignan Community Center Ground, East coast Demerara on Wednesday.
Berbice won the toss and decided to bat first after rain reduced the match to 32-overs-a-side and posted 131-3 in their allotted overs before bowling out the Demerara side for 81 in 24 overs.
After overnight showers, it took good work by groundsmen Steve Ramdass and Keon ‘Banga’ Franklyn who used the old technique of ‘burning the pitch’ to allow the match to go on.
