Dharry back in action tonight in New York

Flashback: Elton Dharry after his TKO victory over former IBF World Super Flyweight Champion Venezuelan Felix Machado who quit after four rounds. The fight took place in February, 2016 at the Giftland Mall, Pattensen, East Coast Demerara.

Guyana’s most exciting bantamweight pugilist, Elton Dharry continues his latest climb in the world rankings when he takes the ring tonight in Queens, New York against Oscar Mojica.

Mojica, an American fighting out of Dallas, Texas, boasts a record of 11 wins, four losses and one knockout. One loss came against Antonio Nieves in June, 2016, in a title bout for the vacant World Boxing Organisation NABO Bantamweight Title.

Dharry, whose record is 22-5-1, last fought here in January on the ‘Bad Blood’ card, believes his exposure on the North American boxing scene can propel him to ‘make it big’ in the division. He is of the opinion that he needs a convincing win to solidify the credentials he feels he has been able to establish in the 118-pound ranks.
