Seven hundred and six ranks of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) have been promoted by Chief of Staff Brigadier Patrick West.
Heading the list of promotions is Substantive Warrant Officer Class Two Marvin Pilgrim who has been elevated to the rank of Acting Warrant Officer Class One.
The GDF, in a press release on January 1, said that the promotions were done in accordance with Part III Section 16 of the Defence Act 15:01 of 1977.
