Traffic cop struck down while on duty

A traffic officer attached to the Providence Police Station was yesterday afternoon struck down by a motor car while directing traffic at Eccles, on the East Bank Public Road.

The accident reportedly occurred at around 4.55pm.

At the time, the officer was directing traffic at the junction of the Eccles entrance and the main public road during the afternoon peak hour.

The injured cop has been identified as Constable 24396 Kevin Aaron. He was treated at the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was taken for medical attention and later sent away.
