Questioning of suspects in taxi driver hit awaits doctor’s clearance

Investigators probing the murder of taxi driver Kelvin Walters, who was fatally shot on the Eccles, East Bank Demerara public road last Tuesday night, are still to question the suspects in police custody.

The suspects are hospitalised at a city hospital and Crime Chief Lyndon Alves told this newspaper that investigators are awaiting clearance from the doctors before interviewing the men.

The suspects have been hospitalised since Tuesday night, after Walters crashed his car into the men, who were traveling on motorcycle. Police on Wednesday said that the men were arrested and placed into custody under guard. The men were found with “injuries consistent with that of a motor vehicle accident,” police said.
