protesters outside of the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts yesterday to seek justice

The parents of Shaheed Ally, the remanded prisoner who was fatally beaten by fellow inmates while in custody at the Lusignan Prison, protested outside of the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts yesterday to seek justice for him. The protest coincided with the second appearance of Ally’s co-defendant, Malcolm Collie, with whom he had been charged over the murder of Sumintra Dinool, an elderly Albouystown businesswoman who was found dead in her home in 2014. Ally, 30, was attacked hours after being booked into the Lusignan Prison and days later succumbed to the injuries. The police are yet to identify the prisoner/s responsible.
