Security guard to stand trial for attempted murder of men at city wharf

Rondell Mitchel

A city magistrate yesterday committed a security guard to stand trial for the attempted murder of three men at the Meadow Bank Wharf.

It is alleged that on October 28th, 2018, at the Meadow Bank Fisheries Wharf, Rondell Mitchell discharged a loaded firearm at Sherwin Anderson, Romario Nurse and Aquacy Harvey, in an attempt to commit murder.

At the conclusion of the preliminary inquiry into the charge yesterday, Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus told Mitchell that there was sufficient evidence against him to have him stand trial at the High Court.

Mitchell, who was previously granted his release on $250,000 bail, will remain on bail until his trial.

The charge stemmed from a shooting at the wharf where Harvey was wounded.
