Court to rule on voir dire in ‘Bread Man’ murder trial

The prosecution on Friday afternoon closed its case against Shaquille Grant and Neville Forde, who are accused of the 2017 murder of Sophia bread vendor Andre Melroy Alexander, who was shot and killed.

Owing to certain legal submissions made on behalf of Grant by his attorney Nigel Hughes, a voir dire is currently underway before Justice Navindra Singh, who is presiding over the trial at the High Court in Georgetown.

Following presentations made by both the defence and prosecution, the judge adjourned the matter until this morning, when he will rule in the voir dire.
