Over a month after a special lance corporal who was allegedly beaten by a colleague succumbed to his injuries, the file in relation to the matter is now in the process of being sent to the Police Complaints Authority.
Carlos Alleyne, 25, succumbed at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC) after he was allegedly beaten by a senior rank while stationed at the Special Constabulary Head-quarters, Princes Street, Wortman-ville.
When Stabroek News contacted Crime Chief Lyndon Alves for an update on the file in relation to the matter, Alves stated that the file was sent to the Commissioner of Police to then be forwarded to the Police Complaints Authority. When asked if the file was resent to the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice, Alves repeated that the file was sent to the Commissioner.
