Air Services guard succumbs after Vryheid’s Lust accident

Ramlackhan Rup, the Air Services Limited (ASL) security guard who was critically injured after he was reportedly struck down by a car driven by a soldier last month, succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday evening.

Police spokesman Jairam Ramlakhan confirmed that Rup, 57, a father of three of 346 Eight Street, Martyrville, Mon Repos, East Coast Deme-rara (ECD), died around 7.45 pm on Wednesday, at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH). He never regained consciousness since the accident.

The accident occurred on May 25th around 5.15 am along the Vryheid’s Lust Railway Embankment Road, ECD, while Rup was riding his bicycle to work.
