President’s College, Marian Academy and the Bishops’ High were crowned Boys U18, Girls Division and U14 champions respectively when the National School Basketball Festival [NSBF] Regional Finals concluded on Friday.
Staged at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue, East Coast Demerara unit President’s College beat Marian Academy 72-64 in the U18 final.
Richard Semple registered a double-double of 24 points and 13 rebounds, while Jushaun Bailey added 17 points and seven rebounds. Contributing 13 points was Jesse James.
For Marian Academy, Jether Harris bagged a monstrous double-double of 35 points and 16 rebounds. He was assisted by Tyrese James who scored 11 points and five rebounds, while Shamar Atwell added eight points and four assists.
