Mayor’s driver charged with causing death

Joel Bond, the driver of the vehicle assigned to Mayor of Georgetown Ubraj Narine, was released yesterday on $100,000 bail after he was charged with causing the death of Buxton resident Mitford Cambridge following an accident along the Turkeyen Public Road almost two weeks ago.

Bond, 42, a resident of Lot 180 Nonpareil, East Coast Demerara (ECD), is accused of driving motor vehicle PTT 8909 in a manner dangerous to the public, thereby causing the death of Cambridge on June 11th at Turkeyen Public Road.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge when he appeared before Magistrate Alisha George at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court Two.
