A contract has been awarded for the supply and installation of a 150 kW-Hydropower Plant at Chiung River, Kato Village, in Region Eight.

Director General of the Ministry of the Presidency Joseph Harmon announced yesterday that the US$2,250,880 contract for the design, supply and installation of the plant was one of a dozen which received the no-objection of Cabinet when it met on Tuesday.

Harmon disclosed during a post-Cabinet press briefing that the contract, which was awarded under the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, will be executed by B & J Civil Works. He did not have further details on hand and promised to make them available. He noted that he was simply notifying the media about the project and its cost, for which there is very detailed documentation.
