Labourer gets bail on theft charge

A labourer was yesterday granted bail after he denied stealing $250,000 in cash from a Kwakwani businesswoman.

Bob Cypriano, 20, appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, who read the charge to him in Georgetown.

It is alleged that between July 2nd and July 3rd, at Jonestown, Kwakwani, Upper Berbice, Cypriano stole $250,000 from Naimrajie Persaud.

He pleaded not guilty.
