Prosecution to close case against DDL worker charged with causing death

Jermaine Lambert

The prosecution is expected to close its case against the Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) salesman who was charged with causing the death of a pedestrian, who succumbed after being struck while crossing a city street.

Police prosecutor Deniro Jones last Tuesday called witness Rae Jeffrey to testify in the matter against accused Jermaine Lambert. The case is being heard before Magistrate Faith McGusty at the George-town Magistrates’ Court.

The charge against Lambert, of 395 Westminster, West Bank Demerara, alleges that the accused on June 16, 2018 at Lombard Street, drove minibus BRR 5039 in a manner dangerous to the public in Georgetown, thereby causing the death of Richard Barker.
