Regional teaching standards for review

Experts from the Caribbean and Latin America will be gathering at the Arthur Chung Convention Centre in Georgetown from today for a consultation aimed at examining the Standards for the Teaching Profession.

According to a release from the Carib-bean Community (CARICOM), the consultation is being facilitated through a partnership with the CARICOM Secretariat, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and other stakeholders.

The sessions will involve approximately 100 participants comprising teachers, representatives from teacher organisations, Ministry of Education representatives, academics, parent-teacher association representatives, pre-service teachers, teacher trainees and Teacher Task Force regional focal points.
