Probe into murder of Albouystown businesswoman ‘sensitive’

Over two months after the murder of Albouystown shop owner, Nalini Persaud, police investigations are still ongoing.

Fifty-eight-year-old Persaud was killed on May 2nd after she and her husband were attacked by home invaders who robbed them of cash and jewellery. Persaud was the proprietor of Nalo’s Variety Shop which she operated at the bottom flat of her James and Non Pariel streets, Albouystown home.

When Stabroek News contacted acting Crime Chief Michael Kingston yesterday, he revealed that the investigation into the matter is still open and ongoing. Kingston told Stabroek News that the ongoing investigation is a very sensitive one. The acting crime chief noted that the police are being very careful with the information that they reveal to the media.
