Youth charged with possession of stolen bike gets bail

Andrew Clarke

A youth accused of possession of a stolen motorcycle was granted his release on bail yesterday after denying the charge.

Andrew Clarke, 19, of Lot 8 East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, pleaded not guilty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts, where he was charged with being caught with a motorcycle reasonably suspected to be stolen or unlawfully obtained on July 22nd, at East Ruimveldt.

Police prosecutor Seon Blackman objected to the young man being granted bail. He told the court that the value of the motorcycle, prevalence and the punishment the charge attracts were reason enough for Clarke to be remanded.
