Vendor jailed for three years over ganja

A vendor was yesterday sentenced to three years in prison after admitting to a marijuana trafficking charge.

Fitzroy Gibson was in February charged with the possession of 6.158 kilogrammes of cannabis (equivalent to 13.57 pounds) for the purpose of trafficking on February 5th. When Gibson was initially charged, he pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded to prison.  When the matter was called yesterday before Magistrate Leron Daly, Gibson changed his plea to guilty and was handed a three-year sentence by the magistrate, who before sentencing, considered that he did not waste the court’s time further.
