Accused fraudster remanded

A Loo Creek fraud accused, who was recaptured after apparently giving police the slip by providing a fake name, was yesterday remanded to prison after a city court heard that he might be a flight risk.

Cliff Jacobs, 38, a miner of 264 Loo Creek, Soesdyke-Linden Highway, was read two charges at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts by Senior Magistrate Leron Daly.

It is alleged that that on September 24th, 2018, at Church Street, Georgetown, he incurred a debt amounting to $1.1 million from Austin Munroe by means of fraud. He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
