Two weeks after being freed of an attempted murder charge, Fresh Co Supermarket manager Xinoxi Qu was yesterday back before a city court on a charge of assaulting one of his employees.
Qu denied the charge, which was read to him by Senior Magistrate Leron Daly in Georgetown.
The charge alleged that on August 19th, at Fresh Co Supermarket, he unlawfully assaulted Michelle Bangatt.
His attorney, George Thomas, explained that his client attended court after an arrest warrant was issued for him on August 23rd. Thomas, who made an application for the warrant to be recalled, noted that the defendant and the complainant are employer and employee and that there was a proposed agreement for the matter to be settled via payment of compensation.
