Ten minutes of intense rainfall and winds yesterday morning downed a large tree at the western section of the Promenade Gardens on Waterloo Street, between Middle and New Market streets. More than 30 feet of the Garden’s fence was destroyed as the tree was completely uprooted. It fell inside the Gardens. No one was injured.
When Stabroek News visited the Gardens, witnesses related hearing the tree breaking and the loud noise it made when it fell.
