Guyana’s batting sensation Shimron Hetmyer expressed a sigh of relief after registering a nifty match-winning half-century to guide the Guyana Amazon Warriors to a crushing eight-wicket win over St Kitts and Nevis Patriots Saturday night at the Providence National Stadium.
Heading into this year’s CPL Hetmyer was out of form having failed to register a substantive score for the West Indies against a touring India side.
However, notwithstanding his recent shortcomings, Hetmyer stroked a shrewd unbeaten innings of 70 which ensured Warriors hunted down the 153 set by Patriots inside 19 overs.
