Guard charged with stealing dresses from Regent St store

A man hired as a security guard for a Regent Street store found himself before a city court yesterday charged with stealing 12 dresses from the business.

Lenno Alexander, 28, of Lot 317 Crane Housing Scheme, West Coast Demerara, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts, where he pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The charge, which was read to him by Principal Magistrate Faith McGusty, states that on September 7th, at Regent Street, Georgetown, he stole 12 dresses, valued $60,000, from his employer, Sunil Teotia.
