A fire suspected to be of electrical origin yesterday completely destroyed a two-story wooden house at Miss Phoebe, Port Mourant, Corentyne.
According to residents, the fire started sometime before 5.30 pm.
Deodat Kasso, 46, resided with his sickly 71-year-old mother in the house located at Lot 16 Miss Phoebe, Port Mourant.
He explained, “Me come pon garden around quarter to 5 and when we come me bathe and thing and come out one truck pick me up to go load the baigan that I lef and when me come back me collect my cycle and me go the shop me had to pay somebody that work with me and then somebody call me and tell me house a burn down”.
