Grove man remanded over gun-point attacks in North West

A Grove, East Bank Demerara man, accused of two armed attacks in the North West District, was remanded to prison yesterday.

Marlon Carter, 31, called “Short Man,” of Lot 133 Post Office Street, Grove, East Bank Demerara, denied committing the attacks after being charged before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in Georgetown.

The first charge states that on August 24th, at Black Sand, Five Star Backdam, North West, Carter was armed with a handgun when he robbed Kumar Nandkumar of 58.3 pennyweights of raw gold, valued at $900,000.
