Minister of Citizenship, Winston Felix, last night welcomed home Cecil Simon and his wife, Olive, who survived Hurricane Dorian, which cut a path of destruction through The Bahamas several weeks ago.
The Simons, who were teachers on The Bahamas’ Great Abaco Island landed at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timerhri just before 22:00 hrs.
Felix, according to the Ministry of the Presidency, said that the husband and wife were among 12 Guyanese who “really wanted to come home.” The other ten persons returned to Guyana on two separate flights earlier this month.
