Boy, 13, injured after being hit by motorcyclist

The motorcycle after the accident

A 13-year-old student of St John’s College is presently nursing injuries in the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) after a motorcycle struck him off of his bicycle last night.

The accident occurred on Robb Street, just west of the intersection with Camp Street, around 8.30 pm. According to witnesses, Romeo Cambridge, who was the rider of motorcycle CC4437, and the teen were heading towards Camp Street, when the motorcyclist slammed into the bicycle from behind, leaving the boy badly injured. Witnesses say that the bicycle the boy was riding had no reflectors or lights.

The badly injured teen was subsequently rushed to the GPH. His grandmother, who was the only relative present at the scene at that time, refused to accompany him to the hospital.
