Trinidad attaché in Venezuela: Pay me or bring me back home

Trinidad Immigration attaché Balroop Beebakhee

(Trinidad Express) A Trinidad and Tobago immigration official based in Caracas, Venezuela has sent a distress call to the T&T authorities to send him money to survive or bring him back home.

Immigration attaché Balroop Beebakhee was asked by the Government to go to Venezuela in early July following the move to impose a visa system on Venezuelans wishing to enter T&T.

Beebakhee, a public servant for nearly four decades, is now in dire straits and forced to live out of his own pocket as his monthly Foreign Service Allowance (FSA) which is approximately US$4,000 to US$5,000 has not been paid since he arrived in Venezuela.
