Forgotten Youth Foundation (FYF) Gym standouts, Shamar Ali (elite) and Mark Crawford (youth) took home the best boxer’s awards but the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) earned the Gym trophy once again as the curtain came down on the National Intermediate Championships on Sunday night.
Named in honor of Lennox Blackmore and staged at the National Gymnasium, the three-day calendar event of the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA) saw some of the nation’s best up and coming pugilists matching gloves for trophies, medals and bragging rights.
Ali and Crawford, both lightweights in their respective classes, were the pick of the litter.
