Kevin Allicock told a court that he used to be a boxing ambassador for the country in his plea for bail.

When Allicock of Lot 32 James Street, Albouystown appeared in the courtroom of Principal Magistrate Faith McGusty yesterday, he was informed by the police prosecutor, Seon Blackman, that while the analyst’s statement for the matter was in, the prosecutor was still asking for more time to gather information for the matter to go to trial.

Allicock immediately asked the Magistrate to release him on bail given that he had been remanded to prison since August of this year. Prosecutor Blackman objected to his release but Allicock assured the court that he was not a flight risk and would attend court on every date given. He further explained “I used to be an ambassador for Guyana, through boxing” he said. With this information, Magistrate McGusty released him on $175,000 bail.
