Police probing attack on Corentyne student by schoolmates

The police in Berbice are presently investigating an attack on a 15-year-old student by two of her schoolmates at a Corentyne Secondary School.

The student’s mother, a teacher, reported the attack to the Springlands Police Station, after she was dissatisfied about the way in which the school handled the case.

This newspaper was told that the two alleged attackers, a Third Form student and a Fourth Form student, were suspended.

In a video of the attack, seen by Sunday Stabroek, two female students walked up to the victim and after arguing with her for a few seconds they threw juice onto her face. The two students then began hitting her, while she attempted to defend herself.
