Accused to face trial over attempted murder of Stevedore dog food vendor

Naresh Samaroo was yesterday committed to stand trial at the High Court for the attempted murder of dog food vendor Shane Cooper, who was shot twice during a robbery last year.

The Preliminary Inquiry (PI) into the charge was conducted by Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court Two.

It is alleged that Samaroo, 22, of 97 James Street, Albouystown, on September 24th, 2018, at Stevedore Street, North Ruimveldt, caused grievous bodily harm to Cooper, with intent to murder him.
