Powered by ace swimmer, Amy Grant’s four gold medals, North Georgetown (District 11) once again swam away with the spoils of the Swimming Champion-ships of this year’s ‘Nationals’
With the heroics of the other swimmers like Monique Watson who made big splashes and Grant’s medal haul at the National Aquatic Centre, District 11 emphatically retained the coveted title yesterday, tallying 446 points.
District 10 (Upper Demerara/Kwakwani) placed second with 311 points, followed by District 12 (East Georgetown) on 250 and District 13 (South Georgetown) on 152. Completing the top five was Essequibo Coast-Pomeroon on 139 points.
