The charge against Heeranand Boodhram, one of the drivers involved in the fatal Sheriff Street collision that resulted in the death of four-year-old Ambeka Providence in 2016, has been dismissed after a city magistrate ruled that there was insufficient evidence against him.

Boodhram, of Lot 336 Sachi Bazaar, Prashad Nagar, had pleaded not guilty to the charge that on September 10th, 2016, at Sheriff and Garnett streets, he drove pickup truck GPP 3500 in a manner dangerous to the public, thereby causing the death of Providence.

During yesterday’s hearing, Senior Magistrate Leron Daly dismissed the charge after ruling that there was insufficient evidence against Boodhram.
