Son jailed for helping father escape from cops

A young man will be serving time behind bars for the next year after admitting to assisting his father with his escape from police custody.

Samuel Domingo, 21, of Rupununi, yesterday told a city court that he helped his father escape police custody because “I could not watch my father be in jail.”

The charge against him stated that on March 27th, 2019, at Katoonarib Village, South Rupununi, he assisted Eustace Domingo, who was at the said time in lawful custody as a suspect in the murder of Reginald Thompson, to escape lawful custody.
