Hemant Gocool and Khemraj Persaud were yesterday committed to stand trial at the High Court for the murder of Rohan Persaud, the Grove, East Bank Demerara man who was found stabbed to death earlier this year.

The charge against the two men stated that they murdered Persaud, called ‘Ravi,’ on February 13th, at Samatta Point Grove, East Bank Demerara.

At the conclusion of the Preliminary Inquiry (PI) into the charge yesterday, Principal Magistrate Faith McGusty ruled that a prima facie case was made out against the two men and committed them to stand trial at the next practicable sitting of the Demerara Assizes.
