Although he admitted to stabbing his drinking partner, a fish vendor was released on bail by a city court yesterday after he claimed that the victim was willing to drop the complaint once he is compensated.
Davindra Kumar is due to return before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan today to compensate the victim, Terrence Forde, whom he said requested $300,000 as compensation.
Failure to compensate the victim will result in Kumar being sentenced.
