Earl DeSouza

A city magistrate on Tuesday referred a narcotics possession accused to the Drug Court after he admitted to smoking a “joint” every week.

Earl DeSouza, who was arraigned before Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus, was told that the charge against him would be heard in the new court after his admission.

This was after he admitted to having 10 grammes of marijuana in his possession on November 23rd at First Avenue, Bartica. According to the police prosecutor, the police were conducting a search on a passenger at the stelling at First Avenue, Bartica, when they noticed DeSouza acting in a suspicious manner. It was reported that he was trying to remove the narcotic from his crotch.
