A Helena, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara man on Tuesday admitted to killing his common-law wife, whose badly decomposed body was found in a trench in 2016.
Though initially charged with murder, Lakeram Harrinarine pleaded guilty to the lesser count of manslaughter when he appeared before Justice Jo-Ann Barlow. He admitted that between January 7th and January 10th, 2016, at Helena, Mahaica, he murdered Hafeeza Rohoman.
Following his admission, Harrinarine will make his return to court on December 12th for the presentation of the probation report and to be sentenced.
