Bus driver in fatal Nismes crash gets bail on traffic charges

The driver of the Route 31 (Georgetown to Wales) minibus that crashed into a car at Nismes, West Bank Demerara, resulting in the deaths of four persons and the injury of several, was on Thursday released on a total of $120,000 bail after he was charged with three traffic offences.

Campton Bagot Jr appeared before Magistrate Zamilla Ally-Seepaul at the Wales Magistrate’s Court, where he was charged with breach of insurance, failure to report the accident, and failure to render assistance to the injured persons.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was granted his release on bail.
