Linden man found guilty of raping child twice

Keon Lawson

A Linden man was yesterday found guilty on two counts of rape by a jury.

Keon Lawson, 25, of Wismar, Linden, yesterday stood before Justice Simone Morris-Ramlall at the Sexual Offences Court in Georgetown as a 12-member jury delivered the guilty verdicts following two hours of deliberation.

The charges alleged that Lawson, between November 1st and November 30th, 2014, in the county of Demerara, engaged in sexual activity with a six-year-old girl. A second charge stated that on October 6th, 2017, in the County of Demerara, he engaged in sexual activity with a nine-year-old girl. The same girl was the victim in both instances.
