D’Urban Backlands group pledges to enhance community

As part of their community enhancement drive, the recently formed Century Palm Gardens Community Project in the D’Urban Backlands area has posted a number of signs in their neighbourhood. 

According to a Century Palm Gardens Community Project release, the signs include a welcome sign for the Red Cross Convalescent Home and at the entrance from Hadfield Street and for the first time, Conservancy Drive, Lama Drive and Samaan Drive have posted street signs.

Witnessing the occasion were the Mayor of Georgetown, Ubraj Narine, along with Councillors Shonelle Smith-Daniels and Dr Dawn Stewart-Lyken from the M&CC, Trevor Benn, Commissioner of Guyana Lands and Surveys Commission along with Human Resources Manager Shonda Williams and Chief Coordinator for the project Gem Madhoo-Nascimento as well as area residents.
