Christmas babies: First Lady, Sandra Granger and Minister of State, Dawn Hastings-Williams, on Christmas morning, visited the Maternity Ward of the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), where they presented each mother with a package of supplies for their new-born baby and chatted with them. A release from the Ministry of the Presidency said that at the time of the visit there were five babies born on Christmas Day and 18 born on Christmas Eve. Sarah Beekharry delivered the first baby on Christmas Day at 12:38 am, the release said. She said that she was very happy to have received a visit and a token from the First Lady and the Minister of State at Christmas. “It means a lot,” she said.
