Port Kaituma farmer charged with raping 9-year-old

Clarence Marques

A Port Kaituma farmer was on Thursday remanded to prison after he was accused of raping a nine-year old girl.

During an in-camera hearing in Georgetown, Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan read the charge to 59-year-old Clarence Marques.

The charge alleges that during the month of March, 2018, at 4 Mile, Port Kaituma, Marques engaged in sexual penetration of the child. He was not required to plead to the indictable charge.
