Vendor charged with attempted murder following high wine altercation

A 58-year-old vendor who bullied a man for two bottles of high wine was remanded to prison yesterday after he was charged with attempting to kill the man.

Donald Modeste called ‘Old Clothes’ appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court  Three and was not required to plead to the indictable charge after it was read to him.

The charge alleged that on January 9th, 2020 at Arau Mountain Top, Modeste wounded Rayon Barrows with intent to commit murder.
