Timehri man succumbs after murder-suicide bid

Clifton Richmond, the man who attempted to end his own life on Thursday evening after he stabbed his wife during an altercation at Timehri, East Bank Demerara, succumbed at a city hospital yesterday morning.

Region 4 (B) Commander Kurleigh Simon yesterday told Sunday Stabroek that 24-year-old Richmond, also known as “Steve,” a bus conductor, succumbed around 11.15 am at the George-town Public Hospital (GPH).

The police, in a statement, had said that Richmond ingested a poison and jumped into the Demerara River after he allegedly stabbed Sheria Khalil, called “Sherry”, 22, a bank teller, once to her neck.
