Recaptured murder accused Terrence Pitt was yesterday sentenced to 12 month in jail after pleading guilty to escaping from police custody.

Pitt, 26, who is also called ‘Shots’ and ‘Sonna Boy,’ appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in Georgetown to answer to the charge, which stated that between November 11th, 2019 and November 12th, 2019, while being held at the Criminal Investigation Department at Eve Leary, he escaped from custody.

The police prosecutor mentioned that Pitt used a ‘pointer’ from a broom to pick the lock of his handcuffs. The prosecutor added that upon receipt of reliable information, he was subsequently recaptured on January 9th, 2020 in the vicinity of Middle Road, La Penitence.
