The Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) and the Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) yesterday recorded contrasting wins in the latest round of the New Building Society 40-over, second-division tournament.
DCC, playing at home, thumped Sophia by 10 wickets after their bowlers routed the visitors for 62 in 14 overs. National under 19 bowlers Qumar Torrington and Daniel Mootoo picked up 3-14 and 3-8 respectively to lead their side’s bowling effort. DCC, in response, raced to 63-0 in six overs as Shamar Yearwood (25) and Brandon Jaikaran (16) punished the Sophia bowlers.
