President of the Lusignan Golf Club, Aleem Hussain, said last evening that he had stepped down from his role and denied that he was asked by the executives to relinquish his position.
According to information reaching this publication, the members asked Hussain to relinquish the post while an investigation into financial irregularities was being conducted. However, when contacted, Hussain denied the claim.
The man at the helm said that the move is in keeping with him taking up a new role with golf in Guyana but opted not to divulge further.
